Effective April 9, 2019, Adobe Shockwave will be discontinued and the Shockwave player for Windows will no longer be available for download. This page was created to inform other users about Shockwave and how to continue it even after Shockwave has been declared EOL (End of Life).
How to use Shockwave
In order to load Shockwave, you must follow these steps and ensure you have the prerequisites required.
Pale Moon
Pale Moon is a necessity to run Shockwave correctly, as it’s one of the few browsers that still supports NPAPI plugins correctly.
Since Shockwave is quite old, the 32-bit version of Pale Moon is required, here you can download the Portable or the Full version.
Shockwave 12
You must install the Shockwave 12 MSI first and then proceed to install the Visual Studio 2008 C++ x86 redist.

Also please make sure you do not have a browser open when installing the Shockwave MSI, as you will need to start a fresh Windows installation, since the current installation breaks with a browser open.
Shockwave 11
These have been tested to install and work without being dependent on official Shockwave download servers, for the time being this version is recommended.
While Shockwave 11.6 is older than the latest version that is Shockwave, for Habbo, the latest version experiences issues with crashing while playing music from the Trax Machine or Jukebox, and also messsages in the instant messenger are always stuck at 12:00 (this is a bug with getting the time in Shockwave).
For these reasons, Shockwave 11 is recommended to install instead since these issues are not present in this version.

Other Versions
The last release of Shockwave was Shockwave 12 12.13.205. You can download the latest version with this link.
Other versions of Shockwave can be found here, all of these depend on the download servers (including Shockwave 12.13.205) which are fpdownload.macromedia.com and download.macromedia.com so if or when these download servers go down, you may need to spoof your own download.macromedia.com site using a HTTP web server by using these files.

The following items are required to use Shockwave are listed below.
If you fail to meet these requirements, you will only be able to play the Flash version.

Director Downloads
The development programs for Adobe Shockwave files have their respective download links below. Both of these come with their serial keys. Adobe stopped supporting these versions back in 2017 so there’s no way to legally get a hold these programs anymore, and just recently Adobe gave out the serial keys for Director MX 2004.

Recover-CCT
recover-cct is an application that allows you to recover files generated with Director (movies and cast) and that have been protected, and in this way open these files with your original program.
recover-cct releases the files that have been protected with Director so they can be re-edited. Because of how Director performs this protection, the Lingo code that has been written will never be recovered, although in case there is one, it will still be executed without being able to edit or visualize this Lingo code.
